This is a noncompetitive run/walk geared towards engaging our community in a healthy and fun way while raising money for our school.
Incentives for grades to raise funds:
Grades will be competing to bring in the most funds – the winning grades get to use this money for field trips (half will stay in that grade and half will go with the students to their next grade level)
1st place - $1,000 | 2nd place - $750 | 3rd place - $500 | 4th place - $250
Our hope is that every student can raise at least $35 in donations for this event. Our overall goal is to raise $15,000 in order to fund the Ballet Folklorico Program and the Bamberger field trip for our science pillar. Without this money the Folklorico Program will not continue next year.
Everyone can participate! Any student that brings in $35 will receive a Run-A-Thon t-shirt! To get started make a goal for yourself, then start collecting pledges. Keep track of everything on your pledge form (download one below).
How do we get credit for participating?
Two ways - Using the paper pledge form students can get pledges and collect donations. Donors can also use the online donation site to pledge a student. Students don't have to attend the event in order to get credit for the incentives.
That goal is up to you! Each lap is .25 mile and the event ends at 1pm, the rest is up to you!
We will definitely have snacks and drinks for all the hungry runners/walkers! We will also have stretching, music, art table and other fun activities!
Money and pledges can be made online or turned in to your teacher by Friday, May 17.
You may also bring pledge forms and money on the event day, Saturday, May 18.
This year we are doing a Costume Run! Just because you are running doesn't mean you can't have fun! Each grade will choose a theme and students are asked to dress up in that theme. Of course a pair of good running shoes is a must but the outfit can be as creative and fun as you want!
We sure hope so! There will be prizes given out at different times of the run based on your costumes.
9am - 10am Best DIY Costume
10am - 11am Most Creative Costume
11am - 12pm Best Group Costume
12pm - 1pm Best Overall Costume
Not to worry, we have you covered, you can make a mask at our mask making table!
